Shanghai Jimei Propulsion Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as Jimei Propulsion hereafter) was founded in September 2021 with a registered capital of 40 million yuan. It stands as a key incubator in the Tongji University National University Science Park, serving as the pioneer in Shanghai's independent intelligent transportation industry-education integration innovation and entrepreneurship alliance. It also holds the distinction of being Tongji University's first innovation and entrepreneurship practice base and overseas innovation and entrepreneurship practice base of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany. Moreover, it is the sole co-constructor of a hydrogen fuel cell joint laboratory in China with Germany's Rheinmetall Group.

 

With a steadfast commitment to technological advancement and innovation, Jimei Propulsion leverages the research prowess of Tongji University and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany. It focuses on translating research outcomes into practical solutions while continuously enhancing independent technology research, development, and refinement efforts, thereby establishing a robust product technology advantage. The company's flagship product, the high-performance modular multi-stack hydrogen fuel cell system, represents the nation's first domestically developed fuel cell system. Distinguished by its lightweight construction, robust reliability, excellent safety performance, high energy conversion efficiency, and broad operating temperature range, this system boasts remarkable market competitiveness across diverse applications.

Emphasizing product research and development alongside the cultivation of independent innovation capabilities, Jimei Propulsion's research and development team has achieved significant milestones. Through a deep understanding of fuel cell technology, the team has successfully developed high-performance membrane electrodes, corrosion-resistant metal bipolar plates, ultra-lightweight fuel cell stacks, and commercial fuel cell systems. Key breakthroughs include the mastery of low-platinum membrane electrode technology, efficient membrane electrode coating processes, advanced assembly techniques, superior bipolar plate coating technology, and innovative manufacturing processes. Additionally, the company has pioneered technologies such as galvanometer laser welding and advanced stack simulation design techniques.

 

In 2022, Jimei Propulsion achieved a groundbreaking milestone by designing and developing the world's first logistics/plant protection large-load long-range UAV fuel cell system, demonstrating exceptional performance in dynamic loading and stable output power. Since then, the company has forged strategic partnerships with reputable enterprises and institutions including CIMC, Rheinmetal Group, Shanghai Electric Group, PetroChina, FAW Group, Tongji University, and Jiang Tungsten Group.

 

Within just one year of inception, the company has obtained significant intellectual property rights, including 1 authorized invention patent, 4 utility models, 1 appearance patent, 3 invention patents, and 7 utility models. Presently, its workforce nationwide exceeds 25 dedicated professionals.
